An efarinose, hairy species, leaves 1.5-6cm long, obovate to elliptic, apex rounded, base broadly cuneate to rounded, margin subentire to remotely denticulate and ciliate, glabrous or slightly puberulous above, reddish hairs on the veins below, petiole 5-25mm with reddish hairs. Scape 2-3.5cm pilose, with 2-3 rose flowers. Capsule operculate. P. kweichouensis subsp venulosa differs in the leaves more densely hairy, margin ciliate, petioles slender and longer than leaf blade. P. kweichouensis var. guangxiensis differs from var. venulosa in dried leaves subcoriaceous, glabrous below, margin 6-16 somewhat toothed.
