Primula weiliei L.S.Yang, Z.K.Wu & G.W.Hu

Type specimen: Lin-Sen Yang 103 resides at HIB (holotype) and PE (isotype).

Epithet: Named for Prof. Chen Weilie, first director of the Shennongjia Biodiversity Positioning Research Station.
Distribution: Hubei, China.

Compared with several species: P. munroi subsp. yargongensis, P. gemmifera, P. clutterbuckii and P. meiotera. This species has umbels of 1-2 pink homostylous, exannulate flowers on scapes 5-10cm, bracts 2-4mm long, campanulate calyx 3-4mm long. Leaves spatulate, with petioles 15-20mm, base attenuate, margin shallowly serrate to sharply incised-serrate, apex blunt, slightly farinose or efarinose on both surfaces. Grows in rock crevices and is only known from the type locality in Shennongjia National Park, Hubei.
