Initially found on the Doshong La, SE Tibet, this small, efarinose species has oblanceolate leaves to 12 X 3 cm, round at the apex, irregularly dentate at the margin and an attenuate base. The scape elongates in seed to twice the length of the leaves and bears 3-10 nodding, annulate, yellow flowers. Distinguished from Primula prenantha by the larger, campanulate flowers with spreading lobes (versus smaller tubular flowers). Taken in isolation, Primula morsheadiana is considered distinct though intermediates with Primula prenantha occur.
