Type specimen: Inayat 21974 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024468)
Pax described P. inayatii var. aureo-farinosa in Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni. Veg. 2:116. 1906. for plants with yellow farina, however Duthie's original description of silvery-green farina is considered to be yellow to most observers so that this variety is considered a synonym.

From Northern Pakistan in dripping water on cliffs at low altitudes of 800-1900m.
