Primula aurantiaca W.W.Sm. & Forrest

Type specimen: Forrest 21497, 22318, 21501, 22287 resides at E (specimens E00024063, E00265024) and P (specimens P04571202, P04571203) and K (specimen K000732879).

Epithet: Named for the orange flower color.
Distribution: Yunnan, Sichuan.

An efarinose species, leaves obovate to oblanceolate, tapering at the base, apex rounded, margin erose-denticulate. Midrib sometimes reddish. Scape 1-2 per plant, to 30cm (in fruit) with 2-6 whorls of slightly annulate, heterostylous, deep reddish orange flowers. Calyx narrowly campanulate, parted to slightly below the middle into lanceolate lobes. Calyx, pedicels and scape often tinged red. Bracts linear. Capsule globose. Hybridizes with P. bulleyana and P. burmanica.
