Primula xingshanensis Yu B.Wang

Section Auganthus
Type specimen: Wang et al. ycmy152 resides at IBSC (holotype) and PE (isotypes).

Epithet: Named for the Xingshan county, type locality.
Distribution: Hubei, China.

This species was compared to P. rupestris, which has an overlapping distribution, and P. sinensis (P. praenitens), from Guizhou and Sichuan, but P. xingshanensis is distinguished by its obovate-spatulate to spathulate and pinnately lobed leaf blade, the cuneate leaf base, and shorter petioles. It has the distinctive broad and flat-bottom calyx characteristic of section Auganthus. Corolla is pink or pale lilac with a yellow eye, lobes obovate, emarginate at the apex. Only known from the type locality.
