Described as being similar to P. tenella in having stolons, farinose leaves, leaf margin dentate in the upper half, but differing by having yellow farina, smaller ovate to ovate-elliptic leaf blade and distribution. Also compared with P. dujiangyanensis but the scape is densely yellow farinose and shorter, and the leaf apex is acute, rarely broadly obtuse. Grows on moist rock surfaces in moss under forest only at the type location but the authors suggest it may be found in other localities in the future.
