Type specimen: Pratt 252 pro parte, Soulie 152, cult. from seeds of Watson s.n., E. Wilson 4036 resides at KEW (specimens K000732981, K000732982, K000732983, K000732984, K000732985) and Herbarium Hamburgense (specimen HBG510915) and Harvard University (specimen A00073568).

P. cyanatha (syn): I. B. Balfour & Forrest, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh. 19: 167. 1936. Type specimen: Forrest 14366 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024550).

Epithet: Named for Charles Marson Watson.
Distribution: Border regions of Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan and Myanmar(Burma).

This species has black-purple flowers with lobes which are erect so that the flower is tube like. The scape is glabrous and yellow-farinous. Leaves are hairy and efarinous. Compare with other Muscarioides section species: P. muscarioides, P. apoclita and P. deflexa.
