Type specimen: Y.Xu & T.J.Liu Xu150001 resides at South China Botanical Garden, Guangdong, Guangzhou, China.

Epithet: Named for the wavy and shallow undulations of the leaf margin.
Distribution: Hunan, China.

A new species from Hunan, similar to Primula kwangtungensis but differs by its smaller flowers and narrowly oblong leaves with an undulate margin. Efarinose, leaves oblong to oblong-elliptic, irregular, wavy margins, glabrous except sparsely pilose along the veins on both surfaces, with a distinct petiole covered with rusty, curled multicellular hairs.
