Primula tyrolensis Schott, Sippen Oesterr. Primeln 13:1851.

Type specimen: Schott s.n. s.d. (Schott 7. 1848 according to J. Halda) resides at Naturhistorisches Museum Wien.

P. allionii (syn): Hausm., non Lois., Fl. Tirol 2:719. 1852. Type specimens: Ambrosi s.n. s.d., Facchini s.n. s.d. Monte Castellazzo resides at Museo delle Scienze, Trento, Italy.

P. X obovata: Huter, Oesterr. Bot. Z. 23:125. 1873. The hybrid P. auricula X P. tyrolensis.
P. X venzoides: Huter ex Venzo, Nuovo Giorn. Bot. Ital. v. 132 . 1873. The hybrid P. wulfeniana X P. tyrolensis.

Epithet: Named for the Tyrol region.
Distribution: N Italy.

A small species, to 2cm, endemic to limestone areas in the SE Dolomites and the Bellunese Prealps. Related to the species P. allionii, and growing in similar crevices habitats but does not forms cushions or mats. Flowers are rose colored with a white eye, 1-2 per stem. Leaves are involute, obovate, rounded at the apex, broadly winged petiole and covered with stalked sticky colorless glands. The last two images are of the hybrid with P. minima, described as X P. juribella.
