Type specimen: Tsiang 5071 resides at E (specimen E00024280) and US (specimen US00116520) and K (specimen K000750107) and NY (specimen 00329559) and Z (specimen Z-000019533) and S (specimen S-G-5051) and PE (specimen 00027751, 00027753).

Epithet: Named for the botanist Ying Tsiang.
Distribution: Tongzi Xian, Guizhou, China.

An unusual species distinguished by the heavy coating of tomentum on all parts of the plants except the corolla. Leaves suborbicular, base cordate, margin entire or somewhat sinuate, covered on both sides with hairs, very thickly underneath. Scapes to 17cm, with 1-2 umbels of 2-10 pink-purple, emarginate, heteromorphic flowers. Corolla tube 3 X the calyx. Calyx campanulate and parted about to the middle. Capsule globose and included in the calyx. Grows in dense shade on moist cliffs. See related P. persimilis.
