Type specimen: Forrest 16878 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024445).

Distribution: NW Yunnan, China

This species resembles P. reptans in growth and leaf, but a closer look reveals it has leaves which are always tri-lobed. The flowers are exannulate, rose colored with a pale yellow or white eye and a hairy within and without the tube.
