Link to Flora of China description P. szechuanica is an efarinose species with reflexed (bent backwards) petals and leaves with an attenuate base. It grows in meadows and forest margins in W Sichuan and NW Yunnan. P. aemula is considered to be a synonym by Richards, but a separate species by Flora of China.
