Primula subpyrenaica Aymerich , L.Sáez & López-Alvarado

Section Auricula, Subsection Euauricula
Type specimen: P. Aymerich, J. López-Alvarado, L. Sáez LS-7322 resides at BC and MA.

Epithet: Named for the lower elevation (sub) of the ranges of the southern Pre-Pyreanean system.
Distribution: endemic to Serra de Picancel, Southern Pre-Pyrenees, Spain.

Similar to P. lutea and P. auricula but distinguished by longer, herbaceous bracts, fragrant leaves which are yellowish to brownish when pressed. Flowers are yellow. Leaves are broadly obovate to oblong-lanceolate and covered with glandular hairs. Confined to an area of less than 4kms long in the Serra de Picancel, Spain.
