P. stenocalyx var. luteofarinosa (syn): W.W.Sm., Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh. 16:225 1931. Epithet: Named for the narrow calyx.
Distribution: Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan, Xizang (Tibet), Shaanxi.

A widely distributed species characterized by the strongly 5-ribbed, long tubular calyx. This species varies in being efarinose, white farinose or yellow farinose. Leaves are obovate to oblanceolate or spathulate with an attenuate base to a winged petiole, rounded apex and entire or finely denticulate margin. the scape is 1-15cm with 4-16 bluish-lavender to pink annulate flowers, often with a white eye.
