Distribution: Sichuan, China.

This species was first collected in Sichuan near Kangding. The images below are from near Zhongdian in NW Yunnan and may be a form of P. blinii, which is a variable species. P. souliei differs from related species by the leaf margin which is crenate rather than incised-dentate or pinnatifid. The leaves below are farinose and above scabrous-pubescent, the apex rounded, the base attenuate into a distinct narrowly winged petiole. Scapes to 12cm, farinose at the apex with lax umbel of 2-8 rose to pale violet flowers. If you have an image of this species from Sichuan, please contact the webmaster.
