Type specimen: Ward 7228 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024749) and British Museum ?

Epithet: Named for the elongated tubular flower.
Distribution: N Burma.

Found only in the Seinghku Wang in Northern Burma, this species is similar to P. cawdoriana and further collections are needed to clarify their relationship. Differs from P. cawdoriana by having longer leaves and smaller flowers.
