Type specimen: Soulié 1130 resides at Paris (specimen P04908566) and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024043) and NY Botanical Garden (specimens 00329567, 00329568) and KEW (specimens K000732904, K000732905).

Epithet: Named for Mount Sila, W Yunnan where it was first discovered.
Distribution: N Burma (Myanmar), SE Tibet, W Yunnan, Arunachal Pradesh.

A species found in a large area along the border regions of North Burma (Myanmar), Arunachal Pradesh, SE Tibet and West Yunnan. It is a smaller plant than P. amethystina and has smaller flowers. The leaves are obovate with a winged petiole 1/2 to as long as the blade and a sharply denticulate margin. The flowers are campanulate, rose-purple to deep blue-purple and usually are 1-2 per stem but may be as much as 5. Grows in wet areas.
