Type specimen: Sharma E272 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024461) and British Museum (specimen BM000521885) and University of Gothenburg (specimen GB-0048442).

Epithet: Named for Professor K. N. Sharma who collected specimens in Nepal on behalf of the Maharaja of Nepal.
Distribution: West and Central Nepal.

This is a small plant, 5-10cm, with purple-blue exannulate flowers, pedicels shorter than the calyx and a long tube, 2x the calyx. The leaves are densely yellow farinose below. Often encountered by hikers in the Annapurna region. Compare with P. concinna.
