Epithet: Named for the town Recoaro, Vicenza , Italy.
Distribution: SE Prealps, Italy

This species is similar to P. hirsuta but differs by the lilac-violet flowers with a white eye, fewer persistent old leaves, stronger scent and by details of the indumentum (hairs) which are glandular and usually 4-celled. The last three images represent the natural hybrid P. Xvallarsae, which is P. recubariensis X P. auricula ssp ciliata. It is distinguished by the lilac-violet flowers with a yellow eye or yellowish flowers with a lilac-violet limb margin and by hairs intermediate between the two parent species. The hybrid may also be represented by some of the images of plants out of flower from the same location.
