Type specimen: Polunin, Sykes, & Williams 42 resides at British Museum (specimen BM000521882, including field images) and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024707) and Harvard Univeristy (specimen 00073585) and Paris (specimen P04544751).

Epithet: Named for the plant collector, Ramzana Mir.
Distribution: Nepal (endemic).

This species is found in a restricted area near Phoksumdo Lake in Western Nepal. A small species to about 10cm, it grows on rock ledges and screes. Leaves are typical for the Section; ovate-orbicular with a cordate base, toothed margin, distinct petiole and dark green and shining above, farinose below. Flowers are relatively large at 2-2.5 cm across, dark to light purple with a yellow eye edged in white. Compare with the much larger species, P. rotundifolia.
