Distribution: Sichuan, China.

This species is similar to the purple flowered P. pulchella and was compared with that in the original description. It is similar enough, though dwarfer and with narrower leaves, that some authorities have placed it as a subspecies of P. pulchella. Leaves spathulate to linear oblanceolate, base attenuate into a narrowly winged petiole, margin crenate and often narrowly revolute, apex subobtuse and yellow farinose below. Scapes to 25cm with 4-12 yellow flowers with a darker eye. Bracts lanceolate to linear-lanceolate and swollen but not pouched at the base. Compare with related P. pulchella and also the yellow flowered P. flava.
