Primula pelargoniifolia G.Hao, C.M.Hu & Z.Y.Liu

Type specimen: Y. Xu & T.J. Liu 130038 resides at South China Botanical Garden, Guangdong (IBSC).

Epithet: Named for leaves similar to that of a geranium (pelargonium).
Distribution: Chongquing, China.

A species found growing in humid crevices on soil derived from red sandstone, in the Pan-long-shui valley in Qijiang district of Chongqing. It has been compared with P. heucheriifolia but it differs in the yellow flowers in whorls of 2-4 per scape. Only P. pauliana from Sichuan and Yunnan, and P. eugeniae and P. pskemensis from Kyrgyzstan are also yellow flowered in this Section, the rest being purple-pink. See also P. lithophila which is from the same area.
