Type specimen: F. Ludlow & G. Sherriff 2153 resides at British Museum (specimens BM000996932 (with field image), BM000996933) and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimens E00024383, E00024384).

Epithet: Named for the toothed leaves.
Distribution: Tsari, SE Tibet.

An efarinose, glabrous species with characteristic toothed leaves. Flowers are campanulate, deep red, aging to pink and white, 3-10 per stem. Often said to have a orange eye, but according to the field notes this is not consistent. See related species P. valentiniana, P. kingii.
