Originally included within P. stuartii, this species was described by Smith from plants in Eastern Sikkim. It is distinguished from P. stuartii by the zygomorphic, exannulate flowers (pale yellow to white sometimes with a fleshy tint) with emarginate lobes, and by the calyx lobes which are broadly oblong (lanceolate in P. stuartii). It actually has a large distribution from Mid-Nepal through to Arunachal Pradesh. If you have additional images of this species from Nepal, Sikkim or Arunachal Pradesh, please contact the webmaster.
