Section Petiolares, Subsection Davidii
Type specimen: Ju et al. FTZT00381 resides at CDBI.

Epithet: Named for the yellow flowers.
Distribution: Sichuan, China.

A newly described species related to P. epilosa and P. wawushanica but distinctive by having yellow flowers, a glabrous scape and leaf details which are summarized in a comparison chart in the description. This species is evergreen, with basal bud scales, current years leaves immature at flowering, older leaves obovate-oblanceolate, 8-30 x 3.5-12cm, tapering to a short winged petiole, rounded at the apex, margin dentate with teeth coarsely erose, strongly bullate when young, abaxial surface scurfy and glaucous, reticulate veins impressed adaxially and distinctly raised abaxially. Bracts lanceolate, calyx campanulate, glabrous cut 1/3 to 1/2 into ovate, acute lobes, pedicels scurfy. Scape sparsely scrufy with 5-23 yellow, exannulate, funnel shaped flowers with an emarginate apex. Capsule globose, shorter than the calyx.
