Type specimen: Bijie Exped. 1624 resides at Institute of Botany, Chinese Acadamy of Sciences, Beijing, China (specimen 01432451).
Epithet: Named for growing on rocks.
Distribution: NW Guizhou, China.
An efarinose species, with leaves suborbicular, densely pilose petioles, sparsely pilose above and on veins below, base cordate, margin obscurely crenate. Scapes to 15cm, 1-3 umbels of rose flowers, calyx narrowly campanulate wtih hairs on the outside and parted to 1/3. Capsule cylindrical. Compared with P. cavaleriei but distinguished by longer narrowly campanulate calyx parted to 1/3 and by having a cylindrical capsule.
