Type specimen: Forrest 26534 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00288493) and Forrest 18056, 18191, 26590 (paratypes) at KEW (specimens K000750141, K000750142, K000750143).

Epithet: Named for Mr. Klaver, friend to George Forrest.
Distribution: W Yunnan, NE Myanmar.

This species is found in the region of the Yunnan / Myanmar border region, centered near Nujiang, Yunnan. It is distinguished by having blue-lavender homostylous flowers, 2-10 per scape, with obovate, entire lobes. This efarinose species has leaves elliptic-obovate covered in short glandular hairs, with a broad cuneate base. See related species P. bergenioides, P. leptophylla, and P. hylobia.
