Type specimen: Siméon Tén 387 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024328) and Smithsonian (specimen 00116482).

Distribution: Yongsheng Xian, Yunnan.

A little known, efarinose species with broadly ovate leaves, rounded at the apex, with a very short winged petiole and thinly covered with minute hairs above and thickly covered with hairs below. The base of the plant is surrounded by bud-scales. Flowers blue, heteromorphic, exannulate, narrowly obovate retuse or slightly notched lobes. Supposed to have been collected also at Tingbuba, Muli and Yungchung, Atuntze by Yu. Compare with P. klaveriana, P. leptophylla, and P. bergenioides.
