Epithet: Named for leaves resembling those of the Genus Hydrocotyle (Apiaceae).
Distribution: Sichuan.

A new species described from Dayi Shan, near Huashuiwanzhen, Sichuan. Similar and related to P. veitchiana but distinguished from it by being dwarfer in all parts and by usually bearing single flowers rather than 2-6 per scape. Also distinguished by acute calyx lobes. Apparently no intermediates were found with P. veitchiana, indicating a distinct species is warrented. See related P. veitchiana, P. lacerata.
