Holotype specimen: Y. H. Tao 55281 resides at SZ.
Paratype specimen: C.H. Hsiung, S.S. Chang, H.L. Tsiang 31478 resides at IBK (specimen IBK00028578), and PE (specimen PE01061070), and LBG (specimens LBG00093760, LBG00098087).

Epithet: Named for the homostylous flowers.
Distribution: Sichuan, China.

A little known species, similar to P. nutantiflora but smaller (1-2 cm), the flowers are homostylous and the shape of the corolla is different. Flowers are pink or violet, 1 or 2 on glandular puberulous scapes. Leaves broadly ovate to oblong, subrounded to truncate at the base, obtuse to rounded at the apex, margin irregularly dentate, pubescent on top and yellow farinose below. Originally described as being endemic to Emei Shan, Sichuan but since found near Jiziping.
