Type specimen: Forrest 18875 resides at British Museum(specimen BM000996883) and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024739).

Epithet: Named for the fan shaped leaves.
Distribution: Tibet (Xizang).

A small species, with flabelliform to broadly obovate-cuneate leaves, rounded or flattened at the apex and also conspicuously dentate at the apex. The 2-4 nodding flowers, are purple-violet with flaired limbs, divided into oblong to obovate lobes. The calyx is green to almost black.
