Type specimen: Leschenault s.n. Napalia resides at P (specimen P04588140).
Distribution: Nepal.
Known from only one specimen, presumably collected in Nepal by a local collector. Both Pax and later Hara labelled this species as of uncertain affinity and speculated perhaps it was not collected in Nepal. This could be because of confusion with P. sinensis fimbriata (now P. praenitens) that was popular in the late 1800's and early 1900's and which is not found in Nepal. The specimen shows a good species, in Section Crystallophlomis, and perhaps synonomous with P. megalocarpa.
