Type specimen: M.K. Li 1199 resides at WUK (specimens 0277077, 0247089) and KUN?

Epithet: Named for growing on the surface of rocks.
Distribution: Yunnan, China.

Compared with P. duclouxii but distinguished by being more densely ferruginous-hairy and with wider calyx lobes. Leaves ovate or elliptic, apex rounded, base cordate, margin dentate-lobulate with the lobes broadly triangular, entire or remotely denticulate and covered with pale brown hairs on both surfaces. Petiole, scape and pedicels covered in long rusty hairs. Scape to 2.5cm with a single umbel of 2-6 pink, emarginate flowers. Grows at Jingding Shan, Yunnan.
