Type specimen: Royle s.n. [1831] (Kashmir) resides at Forest Research Institute, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education and World Museum Liverpool.
P. denticulata (syn): sensu Wight, Ic. Pl. Indiae Orient. 6:t. 2000. 1853, non J. E. Smith Type specimen: Munro s.n., Aug. [1834-1838] (Hungarung) resides at KEW? (specimen ?).
P. spathulacea (syn): Jacquem. ex Duby, in DC. Prodr. Syst. Nat. Regni. Veg. 8:44. 1844. Type specimen: Jacquemont 527 resides at Paris (specimen P04588006)
P. elliptica is an efarinose species common on moist slopes near snow melts in the NW Himalaya from N Pakistan, Kashmir to Garwhal. Has distinctive spoon shaped leaves with a long petiole and serrated edges. The last 5 images are from Nepal and represent an extension of range.
