Type specimen: Forrest 21657 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimens E00024617, E00024618), Kew (specimen K000750179) and US National Herbarium (specimen US00116468)

Primula dumicola is found in wet, cold forests in SE Tibet, NW Yunnan, and Upper Burma. The pink flowers are exannulate and homostylous. Similar to P. oreodoxa.
