Primula dongchuanensis Z.K.Wu & Yuan Huang

Type specimen: Z. K. Wu & Yuan Huang, ZKWu2016060 resides at KUN.

Epithet: Named for Dongchuan, the location where the species was discovered.
Distribution: Yunnan, China.

Similar to P. aurantiaca in flower color, leaf characteristics and calyx but distinguished by being smaller in stature, a raceme inflorescence and scapes nearly obsolete at early anthesis. Flowers are deep yellow. Detailed comparison between P. dongchuanensis and P. aurantiaca is given in the description.
