Type specimen: P. H. Davis & O. V. Polunin 23879 resides at E (specimens E00024010, E00024011) and BM (specimen BM000996829 and K (specimen K000732925).

Epithet: Named for P. H. Davis.
Distribution: SE Turkey.

Known from SE Turkey and growing associated with Dionysia in shady crevices in limestone cliffs, this is a smaller species than other members of Section Sphondylia. It is efarinose and also lacks hairs and has only 1 whorl of 1-3 yellow flowers.
