Type specimen: Kingdon-Ward 6975 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024545) and KEW (specimen K000750274).

P. concholoba has a loose spike of flowers that are subglobose (rounded) and scarcely open at the mouth. Found in the far north of Burma (Myanmar), Arunachal Pradesh and in SE Tibet.
