This species is intermediate between P. centellifolia and P. scopulicola in the size of the leaves and hairiness of the petiole and scape, but distinguished from both by its homostylous flowers. The stigma is long exserted and the stamens below at the start of flowering but later when the corolla tube has elongated, the stamens and stigma are at the same height. Capsule globose. Grows on shady and humid cliffs on the Danxia landform at Chishui City, Guizhou.
