Epithet: Named for the general shape of the plant resembling Celsia (Verbascum).
Distribution: NE Yunnan.

Very similar to P. blattariformis but with a long petiole and a blade with a cordate base and a reticulated lower surface. This species was described in the same year, 1915, under both the names P. cesiaeformis and P. racemosa, however the name P. racemosa had previously been used by Bonati (see P. bathangensis). The name P. celsiaeformis has been corrected to P. celsiiformis according to the IAPT code 60C. In the protologue for P. racemosa, the date of the Maire collection is given as July 1912 though none of the sheets are marked with the collection year.
Two Yu collections were identified as P. celsiiformis in "An Enumeration of Primula Collected by Mr. T. T. Yu from Northwestern Yunnan" by Feng-Hwai Chen. They are Yu 12380 from Tehgoh, Chungtien and Yu 14854 from Chiren, Chungtien. The type location for P. celsiiformis is Ta-tchai mountain which is near Tehgoh. In the protolog of P. runcinata, Yu 12380 as well as Yu 13861 are listed as paratypes but both are described as having been collected from Chiren, Chongdien. See also P. aromatica.
