Type specimen: C.F. van Beusekom, et al. 4378 resides at Paris (specimen P00649638) and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00024770) and KEW (specimen K000750407) and Missouri Botanical Garden (specimen MO-345767).

Epithet: Named for its elongate stems.
Distribution: Thailand

A very odd species from Thailand, having no basal rosette and alternate leaves up the long stem. The flowers are arranged in whorls, small, rose colored, with a short tube. It is geographically distinct and though it somewhat resembles other annual species, it may prove to warrent its own section.
