Type specimen: F. Kingdon-Ward 6897 resides at Kew (specimen K000750244), non-type specimen F. Kingdon-Ward 8292 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimen E00066284)

P. calthifolia was first collected at Seinghku Wang, NW Myanmar (Burma) and subsequently in the Delei valley, Arunachal Pradesh. Yellow flowered, and similar to P. strumosa or P. nepalensis. Distinguished by leaves which look like Caltha and are efarinous below. If you have an image of this species, please contact the webmaster.
