P. humilis Pax & K.Hoffm. (syn)
P. souliei subsp. humilis (syn): W.W.Sm. & Forrest, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 16: 41. 1928.

Epithet: Named for the scarcely pinnate leaf blades ?
Distribution: Sichuan.

Richards gave the name P.brevis to what had been known as P. humilis but was illegitimate because of a prior use of "humilis". Unfortunately "brevis" has also been used prior so this second name is also illegitimate. Initially thought to be a subspecies of P. souliei, but differing from that species by the more incised leaves that are farinose below, in the short scape not exceeding the leaves, a more deeply cut calyx and entire corolla lobes. Leaves are minutely scabrid, ovate to triangular-orbicular with farina below. Scape to 5cm, farinose at the apex with 1-5 rosey-blue flowers with entire corolla lobes. Calyx cut to two-thirds. From the area between Dawu and Kangding, near Haizi Shan. Requires more study in the field. If you have an image of this species, please contact the webmaster. 如果你有这个物种的图像,请与网站管理员联系。
