Type specimen: Kingdon Ward 6911 (isolectotype) and 7016, 7055, 6830 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimens E00024449, E00024450, E00024451).

Epithet: Named for "charming".
Distribution: Myanmar (Burma).

Collected only by Kingdon Ward in the Seinghku Wang of northern Myanmar. This species resembles P. stenocalyx but with a very short calyx and pouched bracts. Flowers purple with a yellow eye, 1-7, leaves spathulate with a short winged petiole, finely denticulate margin, and farinose underneath.
