Herbarium sheets discovered by the author in Paris herbarium, under the identification of P. latifolia and all collected near Aurent, France (NNW of Nice) were studied and compared with specimens of P. latifolia and contrasted with P. hirsuta. This species was determined to be intermediate between P. latifolia and P. hirsuta. The leaf blades are shorter than P. latifolia subsp. dentiens, and frequently coarsely serrated as in P. hirstua. The pedicels are very long, 12-20mm. Calyx is short, conical not cup-shaped. Corolla probably purple, sometimes white. If you have an image of this species, please contact the webmaster.
