Type specimen: Wang 72594 resides at HUH (specimen 00073528 (holotype)) and at PE (specimen 00205394) and LBG (specimen 00093987) and IBSC (specimen 0097093).

Epithet: Named for the leaves resembling those of the genus Asarum.
Distribution: SW Yunnan.

A liitle known species similar to Primula sinolisteri. Leaves ovate-rotund to reniform, glabrous or subglabrous, main veins sub-basal, cordate at the base, margin obscurely lobulate, remotely hydathode-denticulate and ciliate. Petioles vaginate at the base. Scape exceeding the leaves, and carrying up to 4-8 pink-purple flowers. Calyx is broadly campanulate and pubescent, parted to 1/3 into triangular, acute and ciliate lobes.
