Type specimen: Farrer 178 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimens E00024109, E00024110, E00024111 ) and KEW (specimen K000732834) and British Museum (specimen BM000996816).

Distribution: SE Gansu, NW Sichuan, China

P. alsophila is a delicate plant with thin textured leaves and long creeping stolons. Found in forests.
