Type specimen: Purdom 738 resides at Kew (specimen K000750009)
P. aerinantha was originally found in south Gansu at Lien Hwa Mountain and seems to be restricted to Lian hua shan (range). The leaves are sparsely hairy, efarinose, the scape up to 30cm, farinose toward the apex, with a short spike of light blue-purple flowers. See related P. gracilenta and P. giraldiana.
